One way or another we've all been impacted by natural disasters. Whether it be vicariously through others or actually having to resiliently survive one yourself... we all know how devastating these disasters can be. However, it is evident that people who live in low income countries endure a far more disproportionate price when compared to high income countries. Reason being is that high income countries suffer economic losses while people in low income countries pay with their lives.

In fact 90%of the 1.35 million people who died in a natural disaster over the past 20 years come from low and middle income countries which is a damning indictment of inequality. Countries such as Haiti is exacerbated by poverty, poor infrastructure and lack of disaster preparedness training and education."
